When Clients Speak Negatively About Other Agents

In luxury real estate, first impressions matter - and that includes how we speak about others.
It's not uncommon to sit down with a potential client and hear frustrations about a previous agent or brokerage. Sometimes it's a general critique, and other times it's personal. But here's the truth: speaking negatively about other professionals says more about the speaker than the subject.
Real estate is a relationship business. Every transaction involves trust, timing, and clear communication. If something went wrong in the past, I'm here to listen and understand what wasn't working - not to agree with criticism, but to make sure we don't repeat patterns.
What I won't do is participate in gossip or teardown someone else in the industry. That's not how luxury is built. I believe in staying focused on service, and leading with discretion and respect.
The best agents are too busy providing real value to get caught in the noise. And the best clients? They're drawn to clarity, confidence, and quiet excellence.
